CANACONA: Congress Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes again denied moves of quitting Congress and joining BJP.
There has been speculation that Fernandes is contemplating resigning his membership as MLA and contesting on a BJP ticket.
Asked for a clarification on the speculation of him joining BJP, Fernandes said, “All these are rumours. I am not going anywhere and am happy with my party which has a bright and ache (good) din (days) ahead.”
Meanwhile Congress MLAs Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, Felipe Neri Rodrigues and Wilfred D’Sa called on Fernandes late evening at his residence in Loliem.
When queried Lourenco said it was a friendly visit and not related to the speculation. “We have come for ‘Koul’ at Mallikarjun temple at Shristal in Canacona. I come every year, we are colleagues so don’t read too much as it is a casual visit.”
