MARGAO: As per the resolution passed at the gram sabha of Village panchayat Curtorim, every panch member will take a lead in carrying out surveys of the migrants residing in their respective wards.
The meeting chaired by Sarpanch Caetano Hilario witnessed discussion on several important issues pertaining to the village, wherein much discussed issue of flowing of sewage water in open areas at Kargil was also highlighted.
Among the other issues villagers expressed deep concern pertaining to the increasing number of migrants and their activities in the jurisdiction of the panchayat.
Villagers were shocked to hear from the panchayat body that police are not showing readiness to carry out verification of these migrants.
Villagers further brought to the attention of the panchayat to keep vigil on migrants and villagers suggested that the panchayat carry out the survey of the migrants at the every ward level, and resloved that the panch members concerned take the lead and later submit the details to the police.
Upon the question raised by the villagers, panchayat informed that they have dropped the idea of erecting MRF shed at ‘Furam Dongor’.
Villagers further suggested that the audit report should be first discussed at the panchayat level and later to forward for discussion at the gram sabha.
