PANJIM: Minister for Information Technology (IT) Rohan Khanute on Saturday launched EB3ONTHESEA, an initiative aimed at facilitating, educating and incubating the Web3 revolution in Goa.
The initiative has been launched with the support of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Government of Goa.
The project has introduced offshore re-purposed vessels, reimagined as dynamic spaces comprising meeting rooms, recreational areas and high-speed 5G-connected working pods and rooms.
Speaking on the occasion, Khaunte said, “There is a lot of potential for Goa in terms of making it a tech hub. Covid-19 has been a learning experience for all of us. We have realised that tourists are coming to Goa to explore more. So we have added lot of verticals.”
“Now we are talking about sports tourism, wellness tourism, eco-tourism etc. We are adding more verticals with a policy framework. Now the idea is of having tech-tourism,” he said.
Khaunte said that the government is driving its policies in such a way that Goa becomes a place of technology.
“We have a very robust Start Up and IT Policy. We now hope to be one of the best not only in the country but in Asia as well,” he said.
The Minister said WEB3ONTHESEA underscores Goa’s commitment to becoming a creative hub for the tech fraternity.
