It was second life for Pagi

CANACONA, JUNE 8
When Narayan Pagi was miraculously pulled out alive from the landslide, it was his second brush with death within barely eight months.
Pagi remained alive when the well collapsed at about 5.30 pm on Saturday and was pulled out by the rescue team only at about 1.35 am on Sunday.
Sources informed that Pagi, who works on a fishing trawler, is learnt to have escaped death during the last October’s sea rampage, when several fishing trawlers and boats sank or displaced and went missing in the Arabian Sea.
Pagi’s fishing trawler was reportedly found after four days of sea ordeal somewhere in the high seas off Ratnagiri coast.
On the other hand, it was a double blow for the family of Sukdo Velip as his wife had drowned in the sea, where she had gone to collect shellfish a few years ago.
Sukdo had come that fateful day to help the labourers to fix a wooden piece (Chowk) at the bottom of the well at Agonda, before actually masonry work to build well walls are taken up.
A mason who was supposed to undertake the Chowk work, however, left for Ghodeanchi Zatra at Mahalwada-Poinguinim that fateful day and in his place, Sukdo began the Chowk work and was tragically buried alive in the landslide.
