PANJIM: A watchman working on contract basis in the government ITI, Satish Naik Arondekar, has appealed to the State government to regularise services of contract workers based on notification issued by the Odisha government.
In a letter to the Secretary (Skill Development and Entrepreneurship), Satish Naik Arodnekar has stated that the Odisha government by a notification issued in October 2022 had already issued a notification the person regularising the services of contract (Watchman, Sweeper and Vocational Instructors) and daily wages (Vocational Instructor on guest lecturers basis) thereby making them entitled for financial benefits such as DA, HRA and other allowances.
Arondekar has been working on contract basis in the Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for the last nine years and is posted as watchman at the government ITI, Pernem.
Arondekar has stated that those who have completed six years of contractual period and daily wages may be brought over to regular establishment and entitled for promotion and seniority.
They shall also be allowed for fixation of their pay as on date of commencement of rules by way of granting notational increments.
