Jaspal Singh is new DGP of Goa

PANJIM: Goa’s new Director General of Police Jaspal Singh will take the charge at police headquarters on Thursday. 

The 1996-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Jaspal Singh will succeed outgoing Director General of Police Indradev Shukla. Shukla, appointed DGP of the coastal State in November 2021, retired on March 31, 2022. 

Singh who was serving as Special Commissioner of Police – Delhi, was promoted to the post of DGP Goa Police on March 29, 2022. 

He has served as Inspector General of Goa Police form June 2017 to July 2020 before his transfer to Delhi on promotion. As per the order, Singh had to take the charge as DGP Goa with effect from April 1, 2022. 

He along with his family landed in Goa on Wednesday night, and will be given the guard of honour at PHQ on Thursday morning.
