JCA Dec 26 meet to decide on Goa Police chief

PANJIM: Nearly one-and-half month after Goa Director General of Police Pranab Nanda’s death leaving the post vacant, a meeting of the Joint Cadre Authority (JCA) has been called on December 26 in New Delhi to decide as to who will head the police force in Goa. The meeting will also take a decision with regard to the head of the Ladakh police force.
With the ongoing peak season in Goa, the police force has been without a head. The post has been lying vacant since Nanda passed away following a cardiac arrest in Delhi on November 16.
According to sources in the Union Home Ministry, a host of officers including Goa Chief Secretary Parimal Rai, Delhi Chief
Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev, Mizoram Chief Secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal have been asked to attend the meeting.
Amidst this news, rumours are floating about Arvind Deep of 1988 cadre to head the Police Department.
