panjim: A JCB, involved in desiliting of St Inez nullah, fell into the creek on Tuesday. However no casualties were reported.
Ahead of the monsoon, the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has begun desilting and cleaning of St Inez nullah, which gets flooded every year during rains.
Panjim Mayor Uday Madkaikar confirmed that the JCB was involved in cleaning the nullah. He explained that the driver lost the balance and the JCB slipped into the nullah.
“The driver escaped unhurt,” said Madkaikar, while adding that the JCB has been removed and the work will resume from Wednesday.
