Jesus called a demon in Gujarat text book

Reginaldo decries silence of govt and its allies on the issue

MARGAO: The Curtorim Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco said the Goa Government and its allies are mute spectators as a text book in Gujarat labels Jesus as a demon.
“The so called party with a difference the BJP is now overtly revealing its true divisive colours on the anti-minority agenda it has when it comes to governance. Incidentally, the Goa has been a model State for its intercommunity peace and coexistence. However, it is surprising the government or its allies have not uttered a single word to criticise the mistake of the Gujarat govt,” Aleixo said.
“Gujarat has again proved it’s hard core Hindutava agenda when its class 9th Hindi text book described Lord Jesus Christ as ‘hevaan isha’, that is, demon or evil spirit or devil,” Reginaldo criticised.
“What happened to our other fellow Goemkars in the Parliament or the Goa assembly be it Shripad Naik or Narendra Sawaikar or Vijai Sardessai or Rohan Kahunte or Michael Lobo or Babu Azgaonkar or Nilesh Cabral or Francis D’Souza or Vishwajeet Rane or Pandurang Madkaikar or Mauvin Godinho or Alina Saldanha or many more supporting the government?” Aleixo asked.
Reginaldo has demanded that the Goa Government and its allies come out and speak out against the issue and speak fast.
