Jet Airways loaders go on strike

VASCO: Around 79 loaders of Jet Airways, working at Dabolim International Airport began an indefinite strike on Saturday over the non-fulfillment of their demands, including a hike in wages.

The loaders protested the low wages paid to them by the management for the last several years. They are earning Rs 6,500 at present, while they have demanded Rs 22,000. 
They have also intensified their protest over the alleged harassment meted to them by the management.
The loaders also claimed that the airline management had recruited around 12 additional loaders at Dabolim Airport without taking them into confidence.
Meanwhile, the strike has not affected the services of the airlines.
