Jharkhand native convicted of murder

MARGAO: The first murder case registered at Fatorda Police Station has ended in a conviction as Principal Sessions Judge B Deshpande found Somra Yadav guilty of murdering Mantri Marandi and fixed the matter for point of sentence on November 2.
It may be recalled that in October, 2017, 20-year-old Somra, a native of Jharkhand hit his colleague and fellow Jharkhand native Marandi with a concrete block on the back of his head causing his death. Based on the complaint lodged by the supervisor Dinkar Boravadkar, Fatorda Police had registered the case, which was investigated by Police Inspector Navlesh Dessai. Public prosecutor Ladislau Fernandes represented the State in the court.
