VALPOI: Jilted by her boyfriend, an 18-year-old girl from Hivre in Sattari set herself on fire at his place at Mauxi village.
Diksha Kudalker was taken to Community Health Centre at Valpoi with 90 per cent burns and later to Goa Medical College and Hospital, where her condition is reported to be critical.
According to sources, the girl was in relationship with a boy from Mauxi. She went to his house on the day of the incident and asked him to marry her; when he refused, she set herself on fire after dousing with petrol.
The Hivrem villagers have demand the arrest of the boy. Whereas the girl have given a statement to the Valpoi police that she set herself on fire and no one forced her do to that. Valpoi police are investigating the case.
