MARGAO: Bharatiya Janata Party’s Minority Cell president Haji Sheikh Jina has demanded an apology from Congress spokesperson Jitendra Deshprabhu for statements regarding health condition of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Minority Cell president  was reacting to Deshprabhu’s remark on ‘whether the CM is still alive’.
Condemning the statements, Sheikh retorted “If he is in Congress then he is a dead wood”.
He alleged that Deshprabhu had sought Parrikar’s help when the former was caught in mining scam. “When Deshprabhu was caught in mining scam he went to Parrikar and begged to save him. He is a mafia and corrupt man.”
Sheikh stated that the sudden flow of public statements against the government and Chief Minister by Deshprabhu is nothing but indications of aspiring to contest the upcoming by-poll in Mandrem.
“He is continuously making statements since the last few days. All this is preparation for the upcoming election”, Sheikh said.
Taking a jibe at Ramakant Khalap, who had stated that BJP government is struck by an earthquake, Sheikh said “What did Khalap do when he was the law minister? For five years he took VIP treatment and did his own work. His son and daughter-in-law are in AAP.”
He said, “Our Government is led by Parrikar and God willing in the next few days he will resume work.”
