PANJIM: Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Panjim on Saturday directed that a show cause notice be issued to Police Sub-Inspector Sandhya Gupta of the North Goa Women Police Station for not complying with the undertaking given to the Court that Goa BJP vice president & Chairman of the OBC Corporation, Anil Hoble, would be charge sheeted within two days in the dowry and assault case registered against him.
The Court directions came after advocate Aires Rodrigues drew the attention of the JMFC that Gupta had on October 7, made a solemn statement before the Court that the charge sheet against Hoble would be filed within two days.
Pointing out that it is almost a month and that the charge sheet has yet not been filed, Rodrigues submitted that Gupta was in clear contempt of Court.
The Court adjourned to November 18 the petition filed by Suchitra Shirodkar, who represented by Rodrigues, has sought Court directions to the police to properly investigate the case.
Acting on a complaint filed by Shirodkar over the harassment and torture that was being meted out to her daughter, the Women Police Station on July 12 this year booked Hoble, his wife Sandhya and son Milind under Sections 498-A, 323, 506(ii) read with Section 34 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of Dowry Prevention Act.
