PORVORIM: Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) on January 16 will pronounce order on the petition filed by a Panjim-based lawyer to direct the Porvorim Police to register an FIR against Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar and two others in connection with a plot of land along the CHOGM road at Porvorim.
JMFC Reina Fernandes on Monday heard arguments advanced by the Panjim-based lawyer and Special Government Advocate Ashwin Bhobe representing Porvorim Police.
It may be recalled that the lawyer in his petition had accused Parulekar of illegally grabbing 599 sq mtrs of prime land, but had stated that the Porvorim Police was yet to register the FIR against the minister even though a complaint had been filed on November 8.
The lawyer contended that Dilip Parulekar, Peter Martins and Irene Sequeira by their acts of omission and commission and by acting in criminal conspiracy had caused immense loss to the Serula Comunidade by defrauding prime land at a throwaway price to the detriment of the Comunidade.
In his petition, the lawyer had demanded that an FIR under Sections 119, 120, 420 read with 120-B of Indian Penal Code be registered against Parulekar, the attorney of Serula Communidade Martins and former administrator of Comunidade (Bardez) Sequeira and the case be speedily investigated.
