MARGAO: Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao, Pooja Kavlekar has ordered the issuance of fresh summons to the accused in the Velim church raid case, to those not served any summons, and to those whose names have been spelt wrongly. She has also ordered the correction of names during the filing of the chargesheet.
On Monday, Fr Romano Gonsalves and the other accused filed an exemption from appearance. The case has now been adjourned to December 11 for appearances of the others who haven’t been served summons or whose names have gone wrong.
The accused had appeared before the Judge Kavlekar on August 28 and were asked to apply for a bail bond of Rs 10,000 each. She has also ordered issuance of fresh summons to the absentees.
