PANJIM: Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) will hear a petition filed by Suchitra Shirodkar, mother of Anil Hoble’s daughter-in-law, seeking a court-monitored investigation into the criminal case registered against Goa BJP Vice-President and OBC Corporation Chairman Anil Hoble, his wife Sandhya and son Milind on July 29.
Shirodkar, represented by advocate Aires Rodrigues, submitted in the petition that the Investigating Officer of the case, PSI Sandhya Gupta, had been derailing the investigation because the accused Hoble is politically very well connected being Vice-President of the party in government.
She drew the court’s attention that it was based on her complaint an FIR was on July 12, 2017 was registered against the three persons, under Sections 498-A, 323, 506(ii) read with 34 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of Dowry Prevention Act.
Shirodkar in her petition stated that she apprehends that the investigation by Gupta will be shoddy to shield the politically well connected accused and his family by also not invoking serious offences of unlawful restraint, illegal confinement, extortion etc against the accused.
