MARGAO: Joaquim Fernandes has been elected unopposed as a new deputy sarpanch of Raia Panchayat at the election held on Wednesday.
Sarpanch Minguelina D’Souza said the election was held under the supervision of presiding officer Gurunath Gaonkar.
It may be recalled that the Deputy Sarpanch’s post fell vacant following Mario D’Souza’s resignation.
