Jobs, health & education oriented budget

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant presenting his maiden budget in the House said that his main emphasis would be on job creation and investments in health, education and agriculture.
Speaking to reporters after the Budget speech, he said, “I stand committed that I will not compromise the interests of my state. Also I am optimistic that, my colleagues in this August House and the people of Goa at large, will support me in all my endeavours as the Chief Minister of Goa,” he stated.
Asked about the revenue deficit, he replied, it’s well within the limits.
On new taxes introduction, he said, “For now things will move as it is no new taxes but we will see later.”
Asked how he intends to overcome GST deficit as the Centre will compensate only till 2021, he said, “Well, we will seek another 5 years extension for compensation until the GST collection stabilises.”
