MARGAO: Congress President Girish Chodankar has demanded for a judicial inquiry into the deaths of (late) Jitendra Deshprabhu and (late) Dr Suresh Amonkar and Mormugao Councillor (late) Pascoal D’Souza.
Congress has also demanded the role of Vishwajit Rane as Health Minister in COVID management be investigated.
The GPCC President appealed to the President of India Ram Nath Kovind for instructing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inform Goans, ‘as to whom they should address their problems and issues in this critical time of Covid pandemic after Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik publicly acknowledged that Goa CM Pramod Sawant is a liar’.
“After losing total control on the administration and getting completely exposed on handling of the COVID pandemic, Goa CM has now lost confidence of the constitutional Head of the State after losing confidence of the people of Goa. The defects are now out in the open. If the governor had taken serious note of our valid criticism earlier, the situation would have been different today,” he added.
“We once again demand judicial enquiry into suspicious deaths of Jitendra Deshprabhu and Dr Suresh Amonkar as both died due to medical negligence. The ill-treatment given to Mormugao Councillor Pascoal D’Souza and other patients who passed away also needs to be probed,” Girish alleged.
“We demand that the role of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane in handling Covid Management in Goa also needs to be investigated,” he concluded.
