MARGAO: The Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao, will record the statement of the minor boy who was sexually assaulted by a 39-year-old resident of Davorlim on November 17, after lacing his drink with an intoxicant.
Police said that the accused Bonny Saleem Ahmed, who works as a mechanic near the Gogol traffic signal, is lodged in police custody.
Maina-Curtorim police have handed the case over to the Margao Police Women’s Cell.
A police officer involved with the investigation of the case said that as soon as the crime is brought to the notice of the police, they are duty bound to take the victim to the nearest Judicial Magistrate to have his statement recorded.
