PANJIM: The committee for judicial accountability (Goa) that brings lawyers and the common man on a single platform to discuss their grievances with regard to judiciary criticized the judiciary in Goa for delay in delivering justice.
The committee revived under new president Adv Joseph Vaz has decided to meet the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and also to make a representation to the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court about the judicial system prevailing in the State of Goa.
Vaz said that during their meeting held on January 2, the Bombay High Court at Goa came under severe criticism, wherein the public members pointed out that though the final arguments are heard in the High Court, the certified copies of the judgments are not made available for months together.
Vaz welcomed the National Judicial Appointment Commission Act and hoped that it would take care of the malady affecting the judicial system appointing Judges.
