PANJIM: The Crime Branch which is investigating the mysterious death case of Fr Bisamarque Dias has written a letter to the Forensic laboratory Gandhinagar to conduct the lie- detector test of one of the prime witness in the death case. Superintendent of Police, Kartik Kashyap (IPC) said that they are waiting for the reply from the laboratory. The witness was one of the two boys, who spent the entire day with Father Bismarque and the night on the fateful period of November 5/6.
Mr Kashyap said that once there is availability of a slot at the lab, the team of Crime Branch along with the witness will leave for Gandhinagar for the test.
“The test will be conducted by the scientists of the lab whereas we need to thoroughly brief them about the entire incident and everything. The questions will also will be asked by them” Kashyap said.
JMFC Panaji had given consent for the lie-detector test on December 1 whereas the test of another witness who is a minor had been rejected by the Juvenile Court last week.
The much-awaited and the crucial reports of DNA profiling and Diatom test are yet to be received by the crime branch. SP Kashyap has said that the DNA profiling of the blood stains will take some time but the Diatom test report will be received by the Crime Branch in next week.
The samples for the DNA profiling were sent by Crime Branch on November 21 to the CFSL Hyderabad and the samples for the Diatom were sent along with the viscera. Crime Branch has already received the viscera analysis report which established that there was no alcohol or poison in Father Bismarque’s system. But it did not rule out homicidal death at all, as sought to be portrayed by some sections of the media.
Over 30 suspects and the witnesses were been interrogated by the crime branch so, the statements of all the suspects have been recorded and the inquiry is still in progress.
It’s been almost 48 days the body of Fr Bismarque is lying in the GMC morgue. Family members have not claimed the body demanding thorough investigation in the death case. Family members have applied for the NOC from the Crime Branch to claim the body on November 28 whereas the Crime Branch has issued the same on November 30.
