Kadamba bus catches fire; passengers alight safely

PANJIM: Around 15 bus passengers, the driver and the conductor had a miraculous escape when a Kadamba bus caught fire, incidentally outside the Agassaim police station on Sunday afternoon.
The bus was plying to Panjim when it caught fire at around 12.45 pm and the cause is attributed to a fault in the engine.
“The driver noticed smoke emitting out of the engine and he immediately stopped the bus near the Agassiam police station. The passengers were asked to alight after which flames engulfed the bus. All the occupants are safe,” said a police official said, adding that a First Information Report of the fire accident has been registered. The fire service and other authorities concerned rushed to the site.
This is said to be the second incident in the last one month. In the first incident, Kadamba bus plying on Panjim-Vasco route had caught fire near Goa Medical College.  Here too, passengers alighted on time.
