VASCO: Sangeeta Guha was declared winner of Dabolim Beauty Contest-2015 in a competition organized by Dabolim Mahila Group in association with Bogmalo Mahila Mandal and Directorate of Art and Culture at Lima Leitao Ground at New-Vaddem, at the 6th annual cultural programme. Kalpana Harmalkar and Rina Prasad were the first and second runners up respectively.
Fancy dress competition was won by Filomena Cardozo, Rama and Sandhya Mukund. Married group dance competition by Sai Ashirwad Mahila Mandal, Shree Narsimha Sateri Mahila Mandal and Vaddem Self Help Group. Married solo dance competition by Akshata Achrekar, Sangeeta Guha and Jyoti Bhange. Unmarried solo dance competition by Hemanshi Arlekar, Dixita Parab, Muskan and a special prize was awarded to Saloni Khilare. Musical chair by Supriya Mardolkar, Urmila Naik, Bharti Prabhu Dessai, Kalpana Rane and Suhasini Naik. Musical chair (senior category) was won by Roktima Godai, Bhakti Bugde, Shunhangi Sherlekar, Mangal Khillari and Shanta Bhadra. Tug of war by Siddhivinayak Mahila Mandal, Gurukrupa Mahila Mandal and Vailankanni Mahila Mandal. Bucket ball throw by Saili Satardekar, Suhasini Naik, Asha More and Urmila Naik.
Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho was the chief guest for the programme. others who attended the function were Maria Divina Godinho, general manager of Bogmalo Beach Resort Sadhana Mukundan, radio jockey Shakila Shaikh, Chicalim panch members Anita Vaz and Kamlaprasad Yadav, Anita Thorat, Brahma Pawar, Ajay Thorat, Ajay D’Souza and others. The prize distribution was held at the hands of Godinho and other guests. Dabolim MLA Godinho highlighted the necessity of women reservation bill which would help the women in the society to actively participate in the politics. He also has stressed on educating women in the society.
The function was jointly compered by Anita Thorat and Anita Kochrekar.
