MARGAO: Former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat refused to comment on the political future of the Congress party and said it was for the party high command to decide who should be the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President.
“Seriously, I have not even given a thought to this matter,” he said when asked if he would take on the mantle if asked by the party High Command.
He said that a split was imminent was known to all and sundry as there were constant reports appearing in the media about it and that those who quit the Congress must have done so after studying the consequences.
“They must have taken into account their constituency situation and their support base and accordingly taken a decision,” he said and argued that nobody would take such a decision just because someone asked him or her to do so.
