MARGAO: In an attempt to ensure that all 15 BJP-affiliated councillors are on the same page with regards to the election of the Margao Municipality Chief, MLA Digambar Kamat has called a meeting of his councillors on Thursday, the day before the Directorate of Municipal Administration has scheduled a meeting to discuss the no-confidence motion against Chairperson elect Ghanashyam Shirodkar.
Meanwhile, Ghanashyam told Herald he is confident of polling 20 votes if secrecy is maintained at the time of voting. Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday slammed Kamat for making a mockery of the election and diluting the powers of the self-governing civic body.
