PANJIM, SEPT 22 Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today urged all citizens to maintain peace in view of the Ayodhya verdict, which is likely to be passed by the Supreme Court on September 24.

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today urged all citizens to maintain peace in view of the Ayodhya verdict, which is likely to be passed by the Supreme Court on September 24.
Addressing a press conference after chairing a high level security meeting which was attended by Home Minister Ravi Naik, Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava, DGP Bhim Sain Bassi, DIG and both district superintendents, Kamat said that the police have taken all precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incident.

“We reviewed the arrangements and decided that all steps be taken to avoid any untoward incident,” he said adding “we have also asked both the district collectors to hold peace meeting in their areas”.
“I request to all people not to fall prey to false propaganda of a few and respect the Supreme Court judgement whatever it may be,” he stated.
He said the Section 144 is invoked in North District for the forthcoming bypolls in Valpoi will also be imposed in South Goa.
“Under no circumstances peace in the state should be disturbed,”  he said.
