PANJIM: Goa Forward Party (GFP) Working President Kiran Kandolkar has alleged manipulation of voter rolls and accused the State government of trying to make scapegoats out of public servants in order to save the people responsible for the municipal elections debacle.

Addressing the media persons, here, on Saturday, Kandolkar first expressed shock that voters from Colvale, who had voted in the previous panchayat and Zilla Panchayat elections from Colvale, now find themselves as voters of the Mapusa Municipality Ward No 3 for upcoming municipal elections.

Pointing out that these votes are from booth five of Colave that falls under Tivim Constituency, of which he is the former MLA, Kandolkar said this was similar to the manipulation of reservations and delimitation process for the municipal elections that have now been halted by the Supreme Court (SC) because of various errors that were pointed out by the petitioners including GFP.

He alleged that there was a ‘Super CM’ who is behind pulling the strings and who should be held accountable instead of the government officials of departments like Urban Development and the Directorate of Municipal Administration. He also claimed that officials of the Bahujan Samaj will be targeted for faults of ‘This Super CM’.

Kandolkar also criticised the BJP for putting Goa to shame with respect to the recent SC verdict, which he said had caught the attention of the public across the country and not just Goa.

He also demanded that the government rectify the errors for the five municipal areas immediately and sarcastically stated that this government which can do so much at midnight can surely complete this task in a day’s time.

He also said that the GFP has filed under RTI, how much the government spent on lawyers for the matter which reached the SC.
