PANJIM: A 23-year-old Ishaan Shetye, resident of Karaswada-Bardez, lost his life while swimming in a pool run by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Peddem in Mapusa.
According to sources the deceased was swimming in a pool for over 45 minutes and after noticing that he was drowning he was picked up by a lifeguard.
However, the attendants tried to give artificial respiration and later shifted him to District Hospital in Mapusa, where he was declared dead.
Sources informed that the deceased was alive when he was picked up by the lifeguard from the pool.
Police said that the exact cause of death will be revealed only after a post mortem.
