MAPUSA: A 40-year-old resident of Karaswada succumbed to COVID-19 infection on Saturday.
According to available information, the Karaswada resident was brought dead to the North Goa District Hospital on Saturday afternoon. He later tested positive for the infection. Sources informed that he had multiple comorbidities.
Meanwhile, three police staff attached to the Mapusa Police Station including two police constables and a home guard tested positive for COVID-19. As precautionary measure, the police station premises was sanitised by the Mapusa fire personnel.
Meanwhile, 17 new positive cases have been reported in the Mapusa Health centre jurisdiction including seven cases in Cunchelim, four in Karaswada, three each in Ansabhat and Khorlim. Ten new cases have been reported in the Siolim PHC jurisdiction, while Colvale PHC detected three cases and Aldona PHC six cases.
