TIVIM: Mapusa Police on Tuesday arrested a native of Karwar, while another accused was reported to be absconding in connection with separate molestation cases in Mapusa.
Police said that the accused abused the victim girl and caught hold of her hand and banged her mobile phone on the ground. The accused is reported to be absconding. Acting on the complaint, police registered the case under Section 354 (molestation) and is investigating the case.
In another case, a girl from Sodiem-Siolim, studying in a college at Mapusa, complained that an accused from Karwar followed her to the college and forcibly caught hold of her hand.
Police further informed that her friends shouted at the accused, but it was of no avail and the accused abused the girl and pushed her. Mapusa Police arrested the accused under Section 354 of IPC. Police did not rule out the possibility that the two could have been friends earlier.
