PONDA: Kavalem locals has demanded that the newly erected street light pole at Don Khamb Junction be shifted. The reason why they demanded that the pole be shifted is that it has been erected on the cross drain.
According to locals, due to underground power cabling which is on at present, the gutters are filled with mud. To add to the problem the workers of the contractor had erected new street light pole on mouth of cross drain which will block the flow of water during the rains and thus the gutter will overflow on the road causing hardship to commuters.
The locals have suggested to the authorities that the pole should be shifted two to three meters away from the present location, which will solve problem.
