Kavlem Panchayat garbage segregation plant shed Sunday midnight caught massive fire causing loss of around Rs 3 lakh. Besides garbage, dustbins and the shed was also destroyed by the fire. The fire occurred around 11 pm Sunday night and was doused after five hours by Ponda fire personnel using 33000 liters of water. Five fire tenders were used to douse the fire. Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar alleged that the fire was set by someone. The CCTV footage shows one suspect near the garbage plant, he said.
