PANJIM: Friday’s rains gave Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) another spot and activity to promote in its adventure tourism plan. Thanks to the construction of the highway, Bambolim witnessed excessive flooding, leading to two brothers going kayaking in the waters.
Even as it was pouring and vehicles were inching forward, Sheldon D’Souza decided to use a kayak to travel from point A to B. “We are in the fishing line and I was even thinking of putting on a jetski for fun so that the government and the authorities could see the problems faced by the people due to the flooding,” said D’Souza.
He added, “We had no road to come out because of the flooding due to the ongoing construction of the road. We had also urged the company to build two nullahs so that the water could flow into the valley but nothing was done.”
The videos of the D’Souza brothers kayaking on the flooded roads of Bambolim went viral on the social media with people commenting on the stretch started taking photographs and videos which were then immediately spread through social media.
“The videos reached London and my friends who are settled their started asking us about it,” he added.
