KCA not to celebrate Onam

BICHOLIM: Kalpaka Cultural Association, Bicholim has decided not to celebrate Onam festival this year but instead has decided to hand over the festival amount to the Chief Minister’s relief fund to help Kerala flood victims. An awareness rally was held at Bicholim.
It may be noted that Kalpaka Cultural Association (KCA) was to celebrate Onam festival on August 25 and 26. The rally was attended by Bicholim Municipal Council chairperson Rajaram Gaonkar, association president T J Shenoj, Shshidharan Gopal, P V Sreekumar, Prasad Nair, councillors Ajit Borje, Medha Bordekar, Kamlakar Teli and others.
Rajaram Gaonkar said Time has come now to provide financial assistance to the people of Kerala due to natural calamity. The association by deciding not to celebrate Onam this year has shown its solidarity towards Kerala people.   
Shenoj said Kerala people should not lose their tolerance and should reunite to remain firm.
