MARGAO: Even as Rural Development Minister, Mickky Pacheco filed a review petition in the apex court against the order dismissing his special leave application in the junior engineer assault case, the GVP supremo said he has briefed chief minister, Laxmikant Parsekar on the status of the case.
“I called up the chief minister today and briefed him in the matter. I kept the chief minister abreast of the developments arising out of the Supreme court order. I have informed Parsekar that I have filed a review petition in the Supreme Court”, Mickky said, while saying that he would call on the chief minister after he returns to Goa on Thursday.
Replying to a question, Mickky said that that he has filed the review petition on grounds that two witnesses cited by the complainant were never examined by the trial court. “My plea before the apex court in my review petition is that the two witnesses were never examined during the trial of the case”, Mickky said, while expressing confidence that the Supreme court will give him relief on the issue.
