PANJIM: A day after AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced seven major poll promises; the State BJP unit on Wednesday tagged him as a ‘good salesman selling dreams’.
Addressing media persons, BJP State General Secretary Damodar Naik accused Kejriwal of trying to cheat the Goans with false promises on jobs, when the fact is he has managed to give only 400-500 jobs during his six years tenure as Delhi chief minister.
“AAP and its leaders are good salesmen. They sell dreams. Politicians should not sell dreams, instead, they should make dreams come true,” he commented.
Kejriwal during his visit in poll-bound Goa on Tuesday announced 80 per cent reservation in private sector jobs, one lakh jobs in six months, Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 dole for the unemployed youth and families who have lost employment due to COVID respectively, setting up of Skill University in the State, among others.
“The promises made by AAP appear to come with an asterisk symbol on a commercial offer or a warning sign on a cigarette packet, which has the actual details in small print, that everyone tends to miss,” Naik said.
Ridiculing AAP, Naik said that Kejriwal-led party knows that it cannot come to power in Goa and hence are giving false promises.
“They are trying to fool people. The AAP should not cheat people and people should not get cheated. AAP has no standing in Goa. AAP need to ensure that they get at least so many votes to save their deposits,” he said.
