“If it’s dirty it needs to be improved with entry of honest persons. It is the only solution to citizen’s problems and to weed out corruption at government and administration levels. That’s why we picked up a broom to clean politics. Corruption is a major problem affecting administration and the government,” he said during an interaction with youth at Ponda.
He said he had taken steps in Delhi and even sacked a minister after a complaint with evidence of him demanding a bribe.
Speaking on the issue of drugs, he said this won’t end as the police are in connivance with the drug mafia. “There should be strict provision to terminate them from services if they are found guilty so as to create fear among violators. Also, unwanted development projects and casinos are imposed due to political patronage. Politicians benefit so these project are brought without permissions,” he said.
He added that there is an attempt at polarising the people by involvement of politicians in education, universities, and creating an atmosphere of terror. He called on secular citizens to be alert to these attempts.
He said, Goan youth have the capacity to create jobs and there is scope for small entrepreneurs but government should create an atmosphere to provide them with necessary impetus.
He also said that standard of teaching in government schools should improve as this would help in retaining students in these schools.
