PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday made a pitch for the first corruption-free government of Goa and promised doorstep delivery of services if his party wins the Assembly elections.

Addressing the media here, Kejriwal said it is the first time in the last 75 years that the word guarantee has been used in Indian politics and that AAP is the first party used this word. “The rest of the parties speak of assurances, but Kejriwal does what he says,” he said.

Stating that he had already given five guarantees to Goans, Kejriwal said that if voted to power, AAP will provide the first corruption-free government in the State.

“This is AAP’s sixth guarantee to the Goans,” he added.

Kejriwal claimed that despite abundant revenue in the State, it does not go into the development of the State because of corruption. He assured that not a single rupee would be allowed to be siphoned off.

Kejriwal pointed that soon after forming the government in Delhi, he received an audio-clip wherein the Food Minister was heard demanding a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a ration shopkeeper and that within three hours he sacked the Food Minister and referred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). “This is the kind of zero tolerance we will provide in Goa,” he said.

Kejriwal further said if AAP is voted to power, it will introduce doorstep delivery of services, which will make queues and paying touts at government offices for different certificates history. “One will get all their jobs done at a telephone call and at their convenience,” the AAP leader said.

In the doorstep delivery of services, if a person wants a certificate from the government, he/she would telephone the call centre. A government official will come to their home with necessary equipment to collect the data. An official will make it ready and will deliver it to their homes. The people of Goa will not need to go to government offices or take holidays for that matter, he explained.

“We have done all this work in Delhi. All this change will not happen in one day. If AAP forms the government within one month people will see the changes in the governance of Goa,” he said.

The AAP national convenor said many business people and industrialists are facing challenges as a result of the worst governance in the State. If AAP wins, everything will be delivered at their doorstep just like pizza and the party will work to strengthen businesses and industries.

AAP State convenor Rahul Mhambre, Amit Palekar, Valmiki Naik, Ramrao Wagh and Cecille Rodrigues were present for briefing.
