MAPUSA: Mapusa police on Wednesday booked a Kenyan national for trying to flee from police custody after being remanded by the JMFC.
According to police, two accused were taken to Mapusa JFMC by LSPI and four constables for remand. Accordingly, the accused were produced and remanded by Mapusa JMFC. While returning from the court, one of the accused Isezek Indem, a 30-year-old Kenyan national tried to escape.
The accused while returning back allegedly pushed the LPSI and then tried to escape. The accused was chased by the staff and was subsequently caught.
The accused was arrested in connection with a NDPS case on March 24 and was produced and remanded to 14 days judicial custody. In this connection, a complaint was lodged and an offence under Sections 353 and 224 of Indian Penal Code was registered. ASI Dayanand Malik is further investigating into the case.
