A couple from Kerala committed suicide in their flat near Corporation Bank, Shantinagar, Porvorim, on Wednesday.
According to Porvorim Police, Deepak Kumar (40), who was working in a computer company at Panjim, was residing along with his wife (35) in a flat at Shantinagar.
Police further informed that the couple had returned from their native place on Tuesday evening. Since Deepak did not resume duty on Wednesday, his colleagues visited his flat in the evening, but they found the door locked.
Since they did not get response on pressing the door bell, they peeped into the flat through the window and they found Deepak’s body hanging from the fan. They immediately informed the police.
PI Devendra Gad along with this staff rushed to the spot and broke open the flat door. Police found Deepak’s body hanging to the fan and the body of his wife in the bedroom.
Police have also found a note in the room written by the couple stating that they are fed up with life and due to depression, they are committing suicide.
Police after conducting Panchanama sent the bodies to GMC Hospital at Bambolim for post mortem.
PI Devendra Gad is investigating the case.
