A native of Kerala was found dead in a pool of blood in a Colva hotel on Saturday where he was putting up since August 13.
The Colva police has registered a case of unnatural death as preliminary inquiries points towards a suspected suicide, but DySP Umesh Gaonkar said the police will investigate into all angles in the death of the Keralite.
A push botton paper cutting knife was found inside the room, which was used to cause the fatal injuries on the chin of the deceased.
DySP Gauncar told herald that the deceased Sunil P J was putting up at the hotel since August 13. Inquries has revealed that the hotel bill of the deceased had mounted to around Rs 28,000 and the deceased only telling the management that his friend will come to clear the bill. The deceased also could not clear the room service bill.
The hotel management told the police that since the deceased refused to open the door, which was latched from inside, hotel staff effected entry with the help of a ladder from the rear side, only to find the deceased in a pool of blood.
Sources said broken glass pieces were also found inside.
DySP Gauncar said though the Colva police have registered a case of unnatural death, the police would continue investigations to ascertain any foul play in the death of the native of Kerala.
The police are also awaiting an autopsy to throw more light on the death of the keralite.
