The fire reported at the Keri hilltop in Goa has taken a new turn after a jurisdiction clarification. Keri Sarpanch Dharati Siddharth Nagoji stated that the blaze does not fall under her panchayat but under the Paliye panchayat area. Responding to allegations of inaction, she said that despite the boundary issue, her husband Siddharth Nagoji, along with personnel from Mandrem Police, the Mamlatdar’s office, the Talathi, and Fire and Emergency Services, personally visited the site and helped douse the flames. The clarification followed claims by some locals that no action was taken despite complaints for two consecutive days. Authorities have yet to issue any further statement on the jurisdiction dispute.
