PONDA: Continuing her criticism against fellow women’s activist Auda Viegas, Savera President Tara Kerkar has accused Viegas of misusing her powers and has requested the State government to keep Viegas away from police investigation in cases pertaining to crimes against women.
“Whenever cases concerning crimes against women are reported, police takes help of the NGOs to counsel the victim. Viegas should be stopped from doing so, as she is misusing her powers,” Kerkar told reporters at Ponda on Tuesday.
When contacted, Viegas did not respond to phone calls.
