Kerosene-free Goa on the anvil

PANJIM: The government has proposed a kerosene-free State and has made a provision in the Budget to provide LPG gas connection to families still using kerosene as subsidiary fuel for domestic use.

PANJIM: The government has proposed a kerosene-free State and has made a provision in the Budget to provide LPG gas connection to families still using kerosene as subsidiary fuel for domestic use.
The Chief Minister in his budget speech said it is the government’s vision to make Goa a kerosene-free State and to achieve this LPG gas connections will be provided to 12,863 families.    
At present the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, is providing SKO kerosene to around 12,863 non-LPG families at a subsidised rate. All these non-LPG families will be provided with LPG gas connections, the Chief Minister said on the floor of the House. 
To strengthen and safeguard the Civil Supplies godown, the government has decided to install CCTV cameras in all of the department’s taluka godowns which can be monitored from the head office. The government said this will also reduce thefts from the godowns.
