Kesarval natural spring restoration work starts

VASCO: Preliminary restoration work of the Kesarval natural spring is likely to be completed within a month’s time. Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, on Tuesday launched the work of cleaning and preliminary restoration of Keserval spring, Quelossim through Water Resources Department (WRD).

Saldanha said that this spring is famous for its medicinal water. Many people for several years are taking bath and using this spring and ambience for their enjoyment. Now the preliminary work of restoration of this spring has started under WRD which would cost around Rs.4 lakh.

She further said that there are additional works alongside restoring the spring, which will be taken up phase wise. “Our focus will be to make sure that no landslide at spring area takes place as it might block the natural flow of the spring water,” said Saldanha. 

 Saldanha also said she had raised the Kesarval spring issue on the floor of the house and the Tourism Minister has assured her that this Kesarval spring will be restored to its old glory as it is one of the tourist attractions. “The preliminary restoration work of the spring will likely to complete within a month’s time,” she added.
