Ketan elected Margao BJYM president

MARGAO: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Margao Mandal held a meeting on Tuesday at South Goa BJP office Margao to select the Margao Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha committee. 
In a surprising move, the party has elected Ketan Kurtarkar, a 29-year-old councillor of Margao Municipality as the president of the youth committee.
Kurtarkar wasn’t backed by Rupesh Mahatme, Bhai Naik or Sharmad Raiturkar, the three heavyweight camps of BJP in Margao but he says that he had the support of all the party leaders and workers.
Besides Kutarkar, Gaurish Churi was elected as General Secretary, Adhish Pai Kane, Kaustubh Kanekar, Akshay Parker as Vice presidents, Sonika Lotlikar, Sairaj Shirodkar and Nilaksh Mhapsekar as secretaries and Digamber Bondre as treasurer.
Aniket Naik, Gopal Kamat, Kalpesh Churi, Sandesh Palconda, Subhash Naik, Dyaneshwar Patekar, Guruprasad Shenoy, Tanvesh Nagvenkar, Saili Kakodker, Aditi Narvenkar, Rajat Rane, Pravin Chari, Kunal Borkar, Ashvek Kanekar were elected as executive members.
Kutarkar said that the party had offered him the post of Margao Yuva Morcha president two years ago. 
“At that time, I wanted to work in my ward as a counsellor. With Lok Sabha elections coming up, I decided that it’s time to contribute to the party by taking this responsibility. Right now I have no ambition of contesting any election”, he said.
