PONDA: The PWD Divison XVIII on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction and widening of a Portuguese era narrow culvert at Curti on the Khandepar to Ponda town road. The traffic would be diverted to an internal road through Curti bypass, which will connect Ponda with several interlinked roads. The traffic would be rerouted from October 1 till March 2022 when the culvert is expected to be completed.
“The culvert, which will be reconstructed is estimated to cost Rs 1.21 crore,” said MLA Ravi Naik, who laid the foundation stone.
He urged public to bear with inconvenience and use an alternate route.
AE Fadte said the new culvert would be 10 metres wide.
