PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed its National Vice President Avinash Rai Khanna as the in charge (prabhari) of the Goa unit.
Khanna is also vice-chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society and currently holds charge as state party president of Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan.
On his visit, Khanna visited the BJP office in Panjim, the North Goa District office in Mapusa and interacted with the district president along with office bearers
Khanna started his political journey contesting the Assembly elections in Punjab and also served as the BJP State president for Punjab, where under his leadership, BJP secured 19 Assembly seats in 2007.
He was Member of Parliament (MP) in the 14th Lok Sabha and then served as MP in the Rajya Sabha from 2010 to 2016.
